A leaked draft of the proposal shows that all member states of the EU would be required to take in illegal migrants.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Germany: All EU Members Must Take in Migrants<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Soeren Kern | <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gatestoneinstitute.org\/15245\/eu-migrants-relocation-quota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gatestone Institute<\/a> | December 5, 2019<\/p>\n<p>German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welt.de\/politik\/deutschland\/article203996798\/Migration-Seehofer-Es-werden-in-hohem-Masse-Straftaeter-aufgegriffen.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unveiled<\/a> a new plan to reform the European asylum system. A draft of the proposal leaked to the media shows that all member states of the European Union would be required to take in illegal migrants.<\/p>\n<p>Countries in Central and Eastern Europe are opposed to mandatory relocations on the basis that decisions about the granting of residence permits should be kept at the national level.
