The Muslim Brotherhood Subverts France<\/h3>\n

A highly publicized new book that claims to reconcile the practice of Islam with France\u2019s principle of state secularism has reopened a long-running debate about the role of Islam in Western societies.<\/p>\n

After three years of preparation, the book was introduced to the public on February 10 amid great media fanfare. Produced by the Grand Mosque of Paris, the largest mosque in France, it purports to reinforce the idea that the \u201cfundamental principles\u201d of Islam are \u201cfully compatible\u201d with French law, and that those who criticize Islam misunderstand the \u201cuniversality of Islamic values.\u201d<\/p>\n

Closer scrutiny reveals that the book was heavily influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood, a transnational Islamist group that seeks to establish a global totalitarian caliphate (Islamic empire) and is enjoying huge success in entrenching autonomous parallel Islamic societies within France and other Western countries.<\/p>\n

Muslims in the West<\/h4>\n

The 900-page tome\u2014Muslims in the West: Unchanging Cultural Practice, Adapted Presence<\/a>\u2014aims to \u201cfoster greater acceptance\u201d of Muslim practice in secular societies and to proselytize non-Muslims who are \u201ccurious to discover this religion.\u201d Unprecedented in scope, the book has been\u00a0described<\/a>\u00a0as a \u201ccode of good conduct\u201d for Muslims to respect France\u2019s 1905\u00a0law on secularism<\/a>\u00a0(known as\u00a0la\u00efcit\u00e9<\/i>), which declares that the state is neutral with respect to religion.<\/p>\n

The book, which took three years to complete and has variously been described as a guide, manual, handbook, and educational work,\u00a0claims<\/a>\u00a0to \u201ctestify to a reality whose obviousness can no longer be masked: Muslims share with the West, which they inhabit and whose future they build with their fellow citizens, the same vision of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
