The report also shows intensifying support for Islamism, the belief that all social and political systems should be guided by Islam. For example, nearly half (46%) of all Muslims in France believe that Islamic law (sharia) should be applied in France, according to the study.<\/p>\n<p>The survey\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.com\/article\/etat-des-lieux-du-rapport-a-lislam-et-a-lislamisme-des-musulmans-de-france\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">An Assessment of the Relationship Between Muslims in France and Islam and Islamism<\/a>\u2014was conducted by the French Institute for Public Opinion (<em>Institut fran\u00e7ais d\u2019opinion publique, IFOP<\/em>), a major polling and market research firm based in Paris.
